We invite you to join us in our promise to end breast cancer forever by participating in Worship in Pink Weekend on Friday, October 24th, Saturday, October 25th, or Sunday, October 26th, 2008. Worship in Pink Weekend is a grassroots effort with local synagogues, churches, and mosques to educate their respective members on breast health and breast cancer. Last year nearly 20,000 Atlantans participated in Worship in Pink Weekend. We hope to make this year even more successful!

Susan G. Komen for the Cure is dedicated to saving lives by empowering people. The vision of Worship in Pink Weekend is to empower our community through breast health education. It is an opportunity to celebrate survivors, as well as honor those who have lost their battle. A suggested script and a poster will be provided. We will also provide some ideas for your event, for example, participants can wear pink ribbons or pink clothing to commemorate the weekend. Each organization is responsible for coordinating the event at their services.

Susan G. Komen for the Cure Greater Atlanta Affiliate will provide breast health information packets to each participating religious organization. Education packets include basic breast health and breast cancer information. The maximum allotment for an organization is 1,000 packets. The Affiliate also has a Speakers Bureau. If you are interested in a speaker, please contact the office at the number below.

To register your organization, please call the Affiliate at 404-459-8700. Education packets will be available one week prior to Worship in Pink Weekend at our offices as indicated on the registration form. The deadline to register for this program is October 3, 2008.

Any church, synagogue or mosque in the Affiliate’s ten-county service area of Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, DeKalb, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry and Rockdale is encouraged to participate in spreading the life-saving message of early detection.

We hope that you will participate in Worship in Pink Weekend and help us create a world without breast cancer.
